A NATION AWAITS (Rugby World Cup 2019)

We’ve sent a band of laddies to a far and distant land,

To win the Webb Ellis Trophy, with a ball held in their hand.

This hand picked team are giants regardless of their size,

Each one a hero, in the loyal supporters eyes.

------------------------

The might of world rugby awaits, with skill, pace and flair,

When confronted with the Haka, as one they’ll calmly stare.

A claymore carried with them, buried deep within their souls,

A symbol of pride and power, to help achieve their goals.

-----------------------

Of an ancient battle we will sing, before the whistle blows,

Then man by man they’ll turn around, and face their sporting foes.

It would be grand if they won every match, and Scotland holds its breath,

But this is sport with up’s and downs, it isn’t life or death.

-----------------------

So bonnie lads play the ball, with grace , strength and speed,

With rugby skills that still the crowd, and make the world take heed.

Were with you at every step, every minute of every game,

But what we wish for most of all, is to have you safely HAME
